20th Annual Cardinal Classic -- Where Champions Compete

20th Cardinal Classic Looks to be Bigger and Better

We are making some great changes to the Cardinal Classic this year.  Our HS band, drum line, strutters, and cheerleaders will all be there performing for all the athetes.  They will be at the start, finish, and somewhere along the last mile.  They were at our district meet, and the atmosphere was great.  I'm also making arrangements to have people along the course playing guitar, and we will have a live band playing near the finish throughout the meet.  AND I JUST RECIEVED WORD THAT Q94 MAY BE THERE!

After watching what Puma and Red Bull were able to do for the Congress Avenue Mile, I have started talks to get them involved with the Cardinal Classic.  Puma has already given me eight autographed posters of Bob Kennedy that I am going to get framed, and give to Varsity medalists after a random drawing.

Meet Summary -- 9/1/07
Bad Weather -- Great Running

I want to thank everyone for coming out to the 19th Annual Cardinal CC Classic. We had over 400 kids participate this year, making it the largest one in meet history. We had three schools drive over two hours from the Lufkin area to be here, one school from Lousiana, and tons of local schools. It would have been nice to have better weather, but those in attendance got to see some great racing.

Border Clash!

I am very excited about the addition of the Border Clash.  We are expecting several teams from LA this year.  The top 7 runners from TX and the top 7 runners from LA in each Varsity race will be recognized as State Allstars.  We will score the dual meet between these squads, and the winners will receive Border Clash Champion shirts.
