Runners of the Week

Runner of the Week
The Long Red Line
Saturday October 25 = District Title Number Nine (IN A ROW!) For The Lady Cardinals.  Today was a great effort by our girls.  Our goal was to place all seven girls in the top 10, and bring home both the team and invidual titles.  We came up a little short, placing six girls in the top ten.  Carli won the individual title, but we another district title for the ninth year in a row.  Next year we'll shoot for a decade of titles!  This has been a great year.  I know it has been a trying year, but keep on working for two more weeks.  This is the best girls team since 2004.  In two weeks we'll see if you one of the best ever.  Our girls have only made it to State once (2003), and you have such a great chance to get there.  Give me two hard weeks, and I'll give you two nights in Round Rock!  Great Job Girls!!

Saturday October 25 = District Title Number Ten (8 out of the last 9) For The Cardinals.  Today was a great effort by our guys.  Our goal was to place all seven girls in the top 10, and bring home both the team and invidual titles.  Our seventh man placed eighth, Tim won the race, and we won yet another team title.  This has been a great year.  I know it has been a trying year, but keep on working for two more weeks.  You have a chance to make back to back trips to State.  Don't take anything for granted.  We're not going to make it just because we did last year.  We have to earn it all over again.  Give me two more hard weeks, and I'll give you two nights in Round Rock!!  Great Job Guys!!

"It's nice to be great, but it is far greater to be nice."

-- Coach Joe Newton.  Joe Newton has coached for over 50 years and has won over 25 state titles in Illinois.  His teams are always talented, but show class as well.  Having success is awesome, but it is far more important to be a first-class individual.
