Runner of the Week
Kirby Shepherd & Tim Cude
     Kirby steps up to lead his team while Tim Cude gets seconds away from a PR competing in the 4A/5A division.  Kirby ran an amazing race as he was able to PR by 20 seconds on one of the toughest courses we run on.  Nobody could have predicted how well he would run today.  Kirby's finish helped spark us to an eight place finish out of 38 teams.  Tim arrived late to the starting line, and had to start behind 396 runners!  So much for getting out, he had to work to move up as far as he did.  If you add Tim to the race, we place third.  Only 45 points behind division winner Sanger.  We did very well today, and we are starting to look like the Region III favorites.  But Hudson and Huffman will be ready for us on Nov 7, so we had better keep working.  If all goes well, we'll get another shot at Sanger at the State Meet.
Runner of the Week
Mary and Jess
     Mary and Jess each ran a great race as they broke 13 minutes on one of the hardest courses we run on.  With Mary leading the way, Jess ran 15 seconds faster than she has all year on a very tough course.  Each one of these girls is now less than 40 seconds away from their goal time of 12:15.  They each ran almost 30 seconds faster than they did last year on this tough course.  If they and the rest of the girls continue to work, we'll bring the girls to state for the first time in several years.
